About

Hello there!

My name is Ellen and welcome to my blog.

I work in a busy kitchen and live in North Yorkshire, a beautiful and rural county in the North of England, UK.

I originally started this blog in June 2015, a few months after having had surgery on the bones of my foot. I had lots of time to spare what with being all but bed-ridden for several months. I had always wanted to have a blog and write and share stuff but I convinced myself it was too hard and technical for me, so it never appeared – how wrong I was! I am really enjoying learning about blogging as I do it and connecting with people…I have gained so much inspiration from other people’s blogs which I never would have come across if not for making my own! I love having the opportunity to write about and share my random world and at the same time have a nosy at what other people are writing.  Nosiness…it’s a female thing!

I plan to blog about my interests, hobbies and random stuff. The more eclectic the better I say! I like reading, writing, crochet, sewing, cross stitch, making my own candles (not aesthetically pleasing yet but perfectly functional!), and would love to have a go at lots of other crafts, in particular willow basket making and stained glass! As of 2016 I am a new knitter and have took to it like a duck to water as the saying goes – I can’t believe how easy it is after years of thinking it was the hardest thing in the world to do!

I am also passionate about living a green a life as possible, so maybe some articles or links regarding the environment might slip in here from time to time!

Thanks for reading 🙂

Thanks for liking my recent blog post. I love your About page and look forward to reading more about your “random world” as you call it. Hope your bones heal up nicely post-op.

Thank you! The foot is slow going but looking good! x
The pic is around the Castle Howard area in North Yorkshire…I forget the name of the village we set out from but there are lots of nice walks there. 🙂
