For the previous 2 years I have set myself a goal of reading 52 books a year, which averages out to a book a week. In 2015 I managed 35 and in 2016 just 28. I go through periods with reading because it can be a strain on the eyes and sometimes you feel like making or baking something instead.
So, this year, instead of reading 52 books I am going to read what I have left on my shelf. Then some of the books I can keep and some I can give away or charity shop (which will make room for more!).
So the list to read is: –
- The Return of the Native JANUARY 2017
- Women in Love JANUARY 2017
- The Riddle of the Sands JANUARY 2017
- 20000 Leagues Under the Sea FEBRUARY 2017
- Daniel Deronda APRIL 2017
- Cross Stitch MAY 2017
- Anna Karenina
- War and Peace
- Rob Roy
- Vanity Fair
- The Woman in White
- The Mill on the Floss
Not a massive list by any means BUT they are massive books some of them – 10 copies of war and peace and you have enough paper for a bonfire!
Goals should be attainable and maybe 52 books was a bit too ambitious, so here goes to a new year and a new challenge!
6/13 read which means 7 to go! 🙂
Just finished Cross Stitch (Outlander) by Diana Gabaldon and now I did a naughty thing and bought a NEW book! Maddaddam by Margaret Atwood. Will be having a breather and then deciding which book is next!
